The UGC NET June 2026 examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode from June 22 to June 30, 2026 in two shifts every day Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM and Shift 2 from 3 PM to 6 PM. The exam will be held for 85 subjects across these nine days.

Two new subjects Statistics and Forestry have been added to the UGC NET subject list for June 2026. UGC NET June 2026 Preparation Tips Subject-Wise Last 2 Weeks

With exams starting June 22, most candidates have 16 days remaining. Here is a focused preparation strategy

Paper 1 (Common for all subjects 50 questions, 100 marks): Paper 1 covers Teaching Aptitude, Research Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Communication, Reasoning, Data Interpretation, Information & Communication Technology, People & Environment and Higher Education. Revise NTA’s official study material and solve previous year papers daily. Target 40+ out of 50 marks here.

Paper 2 (Subject-specific — 100 questions, 200 marks): Focus on the official UGC NET syllabus for your subject. Revise standard textbooks used in postgraduate courses. Solve at least 5 previous year papers for your subject with a timer.

Last 3 days before exam: Only revise do not start new topics. Solve one full mock test daily. Focus on time management 3 hours for 150 questions = 1.2 minutes per question. Check your admit card and plan travel to exam centre.
