MHT CET 2026 How Two Sessions Work

Candidates who appeared in both sessions will have their best score from both sessions considered for CAP and the further admission process. This is how it works

  • If you appeared for Session 1 only your Session 1 percentile is final
  • If you appeared for Session 2 only your Session 2 percentile is final
  • If you appeared for both sessions CET Cell automatically picks the higher percentile from the two sessions for your final merit
  • You do NOT need to choose between sessions it is automatic

Benefit of two sessions: Students who were unwell or underperformed in Session 1 got a second chance. Those who scored well in Session 1 had no reason to appear for Session 2 their Session 1 score stands.

MHT CET 2026 Normalisation Process

Since the exam is split across multiple sessions the CET Cell uses a normalisation formula to align raw scores with shift-specific variations.

The MHT CET 2026 normalisation formula

Percentile Score = 100 × (Number of candidates who appeared in the session with raw score ≤ your raw score) ÷ Total candidates in that session

This means

  • If 1,00,000 candidates appeared in your session and 95,000 scored equal to or less than you → your percentile = 95.00
  • Percentile is calculated separately for each session
  • Final merit uses best percentile from all sessions

This method ensures that a candidate in a tougher session is not disadvantaged compared to one in an easier session.
